“A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”
Proverbs 11:25
On September 22, I officially became fully funded! It’s taken me a while to write this blog because it still feels super surreal. I can’t believe that in just six short months I was able to meet the $18,700 goal. I’m blown away by my donors’ love, generosity, and constant support. Since I started this journey, I’ve been showered in prayer and I can definitely feel it. I’m humbled to see people reading and commenting on every single one of my blogs, liking my social media posts, and sending me encouraging messages. Huge thank you to everyone who has been supporting me!
The World Race has definitely changed my view on fundraising. Going into this I was extremely nervous about the money factor. It seemed like an enormous amount, and I already felt behind because I only committed to the Race a week and a half before the first fundraising deadline. I was worried about what it would look like to ask people for money and if I would be judged for it. I also quickly realized that I came into this process with a lot of expectations of what fundraising would look like. Thankfully, the Race provided me with a lot of great resources that changed my thought processes and God provided me with some extremely generous people.
Every now and then I would feel very discouraged, especially when I saw so many others on my squad getting fully funded and I still felt miles behind. Right before our launch, however, I began to hear God telling me to trust Him fully with this; He would provide. Every time I would sink back into discouragement, He would remind me of His promise and reaffirm that I wouldn’t have to put any more of my own money towards this. This truth began to settle into my bones, and I began to feel much more at peace.
God has really used this process to redeem what it looks like to support the body and rely on others. He’s shown me verse after verse about generously giving to those who are doing His work. I know that my experience with fundraising for this journey has set me up to be more generous in the future. I’m so thankful for this humbling experience and I’m praying that God will continue to teach me more about how to steward His money well.
Please keep praying for me as I continue on this incredible journey! If you want to keep supporting me financially, you can Venmo me (@Janine-Hald). Also, there are still a few girls on the squad that aren’t fully funded yet. Please keep them in your prayers as well! If you would like to know more about my fundraising experience, (the highs, lows, and inbetweens) in more detail, feel free to reach out.
Even the Costa Rican crocodiles were excited about me being fully funded! (Claudzilla is always excited.)
Traveling with a sistersquad – potentially brilliant! Traveling with God – absolutely brilliant. May God our Father be the road leveler, God the Son and Savior be your light, God the Holy Spirit be your power, and the Triune God be your supply. Your writing continues to

Thank you so much! This was so encouraging to read! It’s definitely been a memorable month and a half already and I’m so excited to see what God’s going to do next!
He really has been so so kind to me! I still can’t believe how much He provided and how He keeps providing and spoiling me!
Yes! He is so good and so faithful!
YES!! I’m so proud of you and always love seeing how the Lord provides in miraculous ways!
Truly, seeing God’s hand in attaining your fundraising goal is a huge faith builder. You will be able to look back on this experience and draw from it time and again when faced with huge obstacles and doubt crops up. God is faithful to each of us.
