Constant growth is vital to our walk with Christ, but it can be difficult to figure out what area of your life to focus on. Personally, I can get so excited about all the different things I want to work on that I overwhelm myself with too much to do and don't actually end up fully studying out anything. Keys for the Journey is an incredible ministry that empowers believers to push themselves to the next level in their relationship with God by concentrating on a single word. This word can either be chosen by you or you can ask for one to be selected prayfully. It's then carved into a key that you can wear as a necklace and carry around with you until you're done working through it. Once you feel ready, you can pass on your key to someone else.

I decided to get a key that I could take with me on my Race and work on throughout the next 11 months. Since God has been opening my eyes to the gravity and scope of His love, I knew immediately that this had to be my word. Love has to be my focus for the year. I want to grow in my understanding of God's love for myself and others. I want to learn to see people through His eyes and feel a deep compassion for anyone I encounter. I want to wrap my head around what it even means to love and be loved. I want this year to redefine the way I think about the entire concept.

I'm so excited to start my journey with my key. I've been wearing it every day during launch, and I find myself tracing the letters whenever I need I reminder of what I'm doing here. I don't want to slip into a state of numbness and apathy. I want to be fully engaged in each moment, always looking for traces of God's love that I can pass on to others.
